COMMUNITY SOLAR

Advantages of Community Solar:

  • Supporting renewable energy that is generated locally

  • Panels do not have to be installed on your property

  • Savings on your electricity bill!

How Does it Work?

The primary purpose of community solar is to allow members of a community to benefit from solar power even if they cannot or prefer not to install solar panels on their property.

Project participants benefit from the electricity generated by the community solar farm, which costs less than the price normally paid to the utility.

In short, community solar offers a way for virtually anyone to go solar, without installing panels on their roof or property.

How Can it Help Me?

You will receive up to 10% savings off your total electric utility bill.

Credits to your utility bill come directly from National Grid and NYSEG.

If you are receiving dual bills for electricity, EGS can help you consolidate your billing in order to maximize your full potential savings.

This program is backed by NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority), National Grid, and NYSEG.
